The first question everyone asks when they visit our store is "do you have real Cajun food"? The answer is yes! Chris and Ginger DelaHoussaye were both born in Louisiana, Chris being from St. Martinville and Ginger from Breaux Bridge. They both bring their Cajun heritage to the upstate. Ten years ago corporate America brought the DelaHoussaye family to Greenville. About 2 years ago Chris took an early retirement and he found himself looking to do something different with his free time. He is part owner of Chops Specialty Meats, Inc. in Broussard, LA which opened in 1999 so he decided to open a Chops Cajun Foods & Specialty Meats here in Greenville, SC. The Chops in Greenville, SC opened October 2, 2006.

Chris spends all his time at Chops while Ginger works in Banking. They have 2 children, Brent and Nicole, who live in the Greenville area. Their daughter Nicole and her husband Matt have careers outside the family business. Their son, Brent, is a professional golfer so most of his time is spent on the golf course and traveling. During the week, at night, and on weekends you can always find someone from the family joining Chris at Chops. Cooking has always been a hobby for the family so any time they can spend at the store is always fun!

Chops Cajun Foods and Specialty Meats carries a wide selection of specialty meats and specialty items that sound and taste absolutely wonderful. They also have a hot short order menu for in-house eating. Any time you visit us you will be welcomed with a warm greeting from the DelaHoussaye family!
